Meals on Wheels of
Norman will provide a
nutritious meal to
Norman's senior,
disabled, and ill
residents who are in
need.
This philosophy has
driven Meals
on Wheels for nearly 38
years. Our intent is to
improve the quality of
life in our community by
providing nutritious,
home-delivered meals
with a daily visit from
our volunteers. |
|
How Can I Volunteer?
-
Serve as a regular
or substitute
volunteer driver.
All it takes is 1 to
1 1/2 hours per week
or per month. All
volunteer drivers
must provide their
own transportation
for meal delivery.
Mileage is tax
deductible.
-
Become a Corporate
Volunteer by
organizing a group
of co-workers to
serve as a team of
volunteers.
-
Group Projects and
Activities are also
available.
Throughout the year,
we offer several
opportunities to
participate in
special events such
as Blizzard Bag
assembly and
delivery, Weekend
Meal delivery, as
well as the
Poinsettia Sale
Telethon and
delivery. Other
activities can also
be arranged as
necessary.

Who Am I Helping?
|
|
Our friends and
neighbors who are ill,
disabled, and senior
residents of Norman who
are in need of
nutritional assistance
benefit from our
services. While the
majority of our clients
are seniors, Meals on
Wheels also offers short
and long term assistance
to those recovering from
surgery or returning
home.
|
|
Our volunteers are
owners, retirees,
students, professionals,
and stay at home moms.
The one thing they all
have in common is a
dedication to serving
the ill, elderly, and
senior residents of our
community. Meals are
delivered Monday -
Friday between 11:00
am - 12:30 pm.
Volunteers are also
needed as
substitute drivers
(drive when needed) for
any day of the week (Monday
through Friday).
Become a Meals on Wheels
Volunteer Driver and be
part of a team that has
delivered over 1.4
million
meals.
