Full-Time Position


About the Role

Meals on Wheels of Norman is seeking a passionate, community-driven leader to serve as our next Executive Director. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a mission that delivers more than meals — it delivers connection, independence, and dignity to those who need it most.

As the face and driving force of the organization, the Executive Director will guide daily operations, inspire a dedicated team of staff and volunteers, and build meaningful relationships across the community. You’ll play a critical role in shaping the future of our organization while ensuring we continue to meet the growing needs of those we serve.


What You’ll Do

Lead with Vision & Purpose

  • Serve as the primary spokesperson, advocate, and champion for Meals on Wheels of Norman
  • Partner with the Board to guide strategic planning and organizational growth
  • Foster a positive, mission-driven culture among staff, volunteers, and stakeholders

Drive Impactful Operations

  • Oversee daily operations, including meal delivery, volunteer coordination, and facility management
  • Ensure all delivery routes are covered and services run smoothly each day
  • Supervise staff and manage an annual budget of approximately $1 million
  • Maintain strong relationships with key partners including Norman Regional Health System, United Way, and community organizations

Strengthen Funding & Community Engagement

  • Lead fundraising efforts including grants, annual campaigns, and special events
  • Cultivate relationships with donors, funders, and community leaders
  • Identify new funding opportunities and ensure timely reporting and compliance

Champion Accountability & Excellence

  • Oversee financial management, reporting, and coordination with auditors and accountants
  • Provide regular updates to the Board on programs, finances, and organizational progress
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and regulatory standards

Build Relationships that Matter

  • Connect with clients, volunteers, donors, and community members to strengthen engagement
  • Represent Meals on Wheels at community events and professional meetings
  • Advocate for the needs and well-being of the populations we serve

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree required (Master’s preferred)
  • Experience in nonprofit leadership or management
  • Strong communication and relationship-building skills
  • Proven leadership and team management experience
  • Grant writing and fundraising experience
  • A passion for community service and making a tangible difference
